July Workday

A visiting group of 10 youth and 4 adults from Hunt Valley Church High School Ministry helped in the Garden on Wednesday. They weeded the center raised beds in preparation for cool weather crops to be planted on August 1st. They pulled the spent broccoli and kale. And helped harvesting vegetables for delivery to ACTC. They also watered the garden vegetables and flower plants on the outside.

                                   Preparing soil in North Raised Bed for Tomato Plants 

                              After adding some lime into the ground, plant the Tomatoes

And remove the invasive weeds coming in from the outside flower bed

                               Marigold and Basil 'companion' plants added in front 

                               of the Tomato plants to improve yield and repel pests

                                                  Some Red Leaf Lettuce plants added

                                                       Sugar Snap Peas coming

      Making repairs to the House for Mason Bees (pollinators)
