  2. Prayers of thanks for the rain!
    It's beautiful to know that the long soaking rains we have this weekend and during recent thunderstorms are providing just the right
    thirst-quenching moisture our crops need.
    Hopefully, new growth and good fruits will
    continue to sustain the harvest for ACTC.

  3. Thanks to "Farmer Ken" for his maintenance on Saturday, and to his harvesting 10 tomatoes and a few onions and beets. We delivered them today to ACTC.

  4. This evening it sprinkled rain a bit, so prior to my meeting with the Adult Ministries Committee, I watered the garden.
    It looks like a few tomatoes will be ready for harvesting in a few days.

  5. Delivered 26 tomatoes and 2 cabbage heads to ACTC Thursday AM. Also tied up 5 pepper plants to stakes, and watered entire garden.

  6. Delivered a large number of tomatoes (60+) and the last of the cabbage heads(4) to ACTC Monday 7/26. Will harvest and deliver more tomatoes tomorrow.

  9. Delivered to ACTC this AM a bag of brussel sprouts (~85) from 2 plants in the NE bed,
    and mucho tomatoes: 78 cherry, 12 yellow pear shaped, 20 Romas(and 19 Romas w/ a bit of "BER") plus 2 "regular" size tomatoes

  10. Delivered to ACTC this AM tomatoes (35 cherry, 10 yellow pear shaped, 3 Romas, 6 "regulars") plus a small bag of basil, 1 squash, 4 beet plants, and 4 carrots.
    Also harvested some brussel sprouts (took home, not to ACTC), and pulled & disposed of 4 of the remaining 6 BS plants.

  13. Sunday afternoon (after pulling up two big bags full of crabgrass and some poison ivy from the Labyrinth) we went over to the Garden for a look. It had been raining, and so everything looked refreshed. We turned over the material in the composter, and added some compost starter, plus a few red wriggler worms from my composter at home.

  16. The cherry tomato plants are really producing!Delivered to ACTC this AM tomatoes(178 cherry, 21 yellow "pears", 2 Roma, 14 "regulars"), 48 brussel sprout "buds"(the last of that crop), 1 green pepper, 1 lonely carrot, and some basil.

  17. Delivered to ACTC this AM tomatoes(27 cherry, 17 yellow "pears",1 Roma, 14 "regulars"),1 squash,1 pepper, and a small number (15) of green beans.
    Also talked to Farmer Ken about the new squash plant in the North bed. It doesn't look healthy, leaves are turning yellow; over watered?

  22. Delivered to ACTC on Tuesday AM (Sept 21) tomatoes(134 cherry, 77 yellow "pears", 19 Roma, 1 "regular"), 1 green pepper, green beans(152),1 bag salad greens, and 1 bag of swiss chard. (The 2 cherry tomato plants and the 1 yellow "pear" tomato plant have been amazing! since early August)

  24. Delivered to ACTC on Tuesday AM (Sept 28) tomatoes(15 cherry, 34 yellow "pears", 7 Roma), green beans(41), 3 bags salad greens(lettuce and swiss chard), and 4 green peppers.
    We are seeing a lot of "blossom end rot" on the Roma and "regular" tomatoes. Farmer Ken mentioned this back in July as a soil problem (not enough calcium).

    TOMATOES!: 1 1/2 lbs red cherries, 1 1/2 lbs "orange" cherries, 1/4 lb yellow pear, 1 lb plum, 4 1/2 lbs "regular" size. Also 3 "Eight Ball" zucchini squash, 6 banana peppers, and a small bag of green beans 1/4 lb (1st of season) with 2 eggplants.
